Thank you for this! I love magazines but have always found it difficult to find titles beyond the obvious glossies. Have earmarked some of the ones you've mentioned to check out...I once picked up a copy of Broccoli because you've mentioned it!

"Sceptical of Monocle" >> Haha! I bought quite a few copies before I realised I hated it and also it was really just a book of ads done by one creative agency, with strong opinions about airport lounges.

Finding magazines is definitely something of a treasure hunt—I do think you'd enjoy Vestoj, though, and maybe The Skirt Chronicles, too, if you haven't checked that one out. I sometimes enjoy flipping through The Gentlewoman, too, though it is def. celebrity-focused. Two sources I use for finding new magazines are Mag Culture (https://magculture.com/) and Stack Magazines (https://stackmagazines.com/shop-2/)

I subscribed to The Drift over a year ago and I love having the issue on deck to read between library holds. I need to branch out more because I love being able to dip my attention in and out of magazines while watching my kid. It feels more noble than having my phone in hand!

Magazines are IDEAL for life with small kids, because they are so easy to pick up and put down—I used to keep one in my car to while away the inevitable car nap that would happen as soon as we would arrive at the park so I'd have something to do whileI was sitting there, waiting. I haven't been reading The Drift lately—I had such high hopes when they launched and was a little crushed that they seemed to be ultimately invested in replicating the dominant NYC media scene mode of parties and in-crowds. (They also weren't paying contributors much, which is a pet issue of mine—if you are smart enough to launch a business, which is what a magazine is, you need to be smart enough to make sure everyone gets paid. I think that changed when they got investment from David Zwirner, though.) If you want to pass along the magazine love to the next generation, MISHOU is really cute: https://www.mishoumagazine.com/
